Have You ever watched the Olympics and thought "Woah"? Well if you said no, then you're lying. You know it's true. Well back to the Olympics. Now you sit on the couch watching Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, and more but I bet that you could never imagine the games on a huge field with naked men running around. Well, in ancient Greece that was no surprise. In about 776 B.C.E the first Olympic games were held in Athens, Greece. The sports that were held included, chariot racing, the discus throw, wrestling, boxing, pankration, (a mix between wrestling and boxing, and which literally means, "all force") and equestrian events. Only men who were born in and spoke Greek were eligible to compete in the games. As u'd expect women were not allowed to participate (as a female athlete I find this extremely sexist). During the Olympics it was easy to cross the boarders, and also everybody could travel easily with there family. In Olympia if you cheated you were whipped, and in modern times you would get disqualified and stripped of your medal. Back then the contestants competed naked and now people pay millions of dollars supplying fancy uniforms for people who where them for a month at the most.
